Everlasting Love

Written By: Dirk

Did i all those years ago find a love so true
Did i love you more than life and did you love me too
Memory fades with age, confusion is my lot
Why cant i remember,i guess i just forgot

For you did i not ,make a path with petals from the rose
And at the end on bended knee, did i not propose
Memory fades with age, confusion is my lot
Why cant i remember,i guess i just forgot

When we were wed where did we go,was it a surprise
Did we sail a gondola beneath the bridge of sighs
Was it in the springtime, did we dodge the April shower
And did we kiss a lovers kiss upon the Eiffel tower
did we share a laugh or two and face the world full on
If we did  these many things where has the memory gone
Memory fades with age, confusion is my lot
Why cant i remember,i guess i just forgot

Did i tell you i loved you every single day
And did i make you happy in a simple caring way
Did we hold each others hand through life til we both grew old
Did i cry so many tears when your warm body grew cold
And did i kiss you tenderly when finally you closed your eyes
Did i whisper gently as you left my side that true love never dies
Memory fades with age, confusion is my lot
Why cant i remember,i guess i just forgot

Now my world is growing dim
The threads of life are getting thin
Darkness now , slowly fading is all sound
A peaceful feeling so profound
I walk towards a distant glow
A point of light does seem to glow
Now i see the glowing light most beautiful to behold
A loving angel in robes of shimmering gold
It is my love, have you come for me,tell me, is it time for us to go
Let me take your hand my love and let loves feelings flow
Feeling now as in my youth,i am now ,as i was then
Pass to me the ink of love and i will be the pen
Ill write our love story as we drift on the winds of time and space
Love is everlasting given by Gods grace
I am now as i was  then ,those many years ago  when first we met
I loved you then i love you now,,,, how could i ever forget
